Viewing the kitchen garden program ‘in action’ is one of the best ways for interested schools to understand the wonderful benefits of engaging children in pleasurable food education, through growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing fresh food each week.

As part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden National Program, one Demonstration School has been selected from the capital city of each state and territory (except Victoria which already has a Demonstration School). This will be a model for interested schools to visit, a training centre for schools joining the National Program. The Demonstration School will become a focus for the National Program in each State or Territory and will attract attention from schools, teachers, community members, media and members of Government.
