Healthy Active National Schools Competition

As part of its campaign to tackle the obesity crisis, the Australian Government will be running a national competition to get kids more physically active and to eat more healthy food.

This competition is now closed

All primary schools were invited to tell us what they are doing, or would like to do, to promote the benefits of healthy eating and the need for physical activity. Schools were also asked to design a ‘campaign’ to fight obesity and get kids active and healthy. You need to include a poster, a logo and a slogan.

Listen to the ambassadors talk about the National Schools Competition.

Entries have closed, and the judges have chosen the winners for each State and Territory.

The winning schools travelled to Canberra to receive their prize on Thursday 13th September 2007. The Minister for Health and Ageing, the Hon Tony Abbott MP, along with Healthy Active Ambassadors Colin Scotts, Layne Beachley, John Steffenson and Brooke Hanson hosted an event at Parliament House where all the winning entries were displayed.

The Prime Minister and the schools local MPs also came to congratulate the winners.
