Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has made a major announcement regarding health in Australia, releasing the document, A National Health and Hospitals Network for Australia in response to the yourHealth consultations. The document is now available at yourhealth.gov.au

National Drugs Campaign
The overall aim of the latest phase of the National Drugs Campaign under the Illicit Drug Use - Targeting Young Ecstasy and Methamphetamine Users initiative is to contribute to a reduction in the uptake of ecstasy and methamphetamines and other illicit drugs among young Australians, by raising awareness of the harms associated with drug use and encouraging and supporting decisions not to use. It also encourages young people using ecstasy and methamphetamines to re-consider their use and direct them to relevant support, counselling and treatment services.
Report of the Review of Health Technology Assessment in Australia
The Minister for Health and Ageing, the Hon Nicola Roxon, and the Minister for Finance and Deregulation, the Hon Lindsay Tanner, have welcomed the report of the Review of Health Technology Assessment in Australia(HTA Review). The HTA Review has recommended key improvements to the way new health technologies, procedures and services are assessed for public and private funding in Australia, in line with international best practice.
Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Guidelines for Early Childhood Settings
